 Come explore a trail path in the Irish Hills (the hills behind Costco)!

Getting there:
Take Madonna Road to the end, then find parking around Devaul Park. From there, walk to the trailhead .



Trail details:
  • Distance: ~1.5 miles
  • Elevation gain: ~460 ft
  • Difficulty: Intermediate
Seasonal notes:
Spring is a beautiful time to be out, but be aware of:
  • 🌱 Poison oak starting to grow
  • 🐍 Snakes coming out to warm up in the sun
Wear appropriate footwear, bring water, and keep an eye on the trail.

School Starts Thursday October 14th

Hawthorne is OPEN and school starts August 14th - even as construction crews are hard at work improving our campus! We appreciate your patience during drop-off and pick-up, and we promise your child's learning (and safety) remain our top priorities. In order to keep the construction moving, PTA's typical welcome back to school event will be postponed.  Please allow a few extra minutes and follow posted signs and detours the first few weeks of school. We are building something great! Sunday August 10th, class placement will be announced through Parent Square.  Teachers will be available at Meadow Park on Monday, August 11th, from 2:30p-3:30p. All questions can be directed to the office phone line at 805-596-4070 or in person at the office temporary location at the corner of Story street and Branch street. Families can sign up on Parent Square to take a guided tour of campus on the afternoon of August 13th, from 4:00-6:30. (Look for the sign up to be posted on August 8th.) ...
